This is a fictional journal for writing and rp. Kala Rallita is a character fully of my own making. No affiliation with Diane Mizota. The entire Rallita family, especially oldest sister Leilani Rallita (her story started this all), are also all my creation. Please don't use any of them without my permission.

Kala is 26 and living in New York City as a model. She is from Hawaii and one of 8 children. She and all of her siblings were adopted by Mama and Papa Rallita, but none of them are blood related (except for the twins, Avery and Bailey). Kala is usually an optimistic and positive person. She likes to be happy and enjoy life. She does have her demons, though, but rarely lets them get the best of her. She's not going to openly tell anyone, at first, that she lived with her birth parents until she was nine, or that they were crummy people, and that she and her mother lived in their car for the last year and a half before Kala was taken by social services. She won't let on to the panic she feels in small spaces, or that it's what makes her a restless sleeper.

Kala loves men. She has good taste in them, and unless she's bored, she won't sleep with just any man. She won't let herself get down over a man. She slips easily in and out of relationships, taking whatever comes with it.

Kala loves to laugh, go out and have fun, or just sit in and watch TV. She misses Hawaii, but loves NYC. It's a new beginning for her, where she can step from the shadows of all her siblings and just be herself. Her oldest sister, Leilani, recently moved in with her and transferred from the HPD to the NYPD. The two get along very well and Kala loves having her big sis around again.

9/08 In the past year, Kala has gotten much closer to her sister Lani. She's slowly leaving the modeling world for a bigger passion of photography. It's something she's always been fascinated by, but never realize or gave herself credit to pursue it. She's been seeing Ben Hawthorne for ten months or so. The relationship has done a lot for her and changed her in many ways, mostly for the better. It gave her confidence to admit her desire for a career change, and she finally let herself commit to someone. And he's good to her.


A breakdown of Kala's family, in her eyes:

Leilani Rallita: Actually, no one calls her by her full name. She's Lani. She's the oldest (37) and quite the pain. Even so I love her terribly and...well the family - the kids - we wouldn't quite know what to do without her. She holds us all together, she takes care of us, and she's...well she's Lani.

Matthew Rallita: Matt is...okay, well for starters he's 34. His wife, Alena - they really are made for each other, you'd get it if you met either one of them - and he have two beautiful children. Tanner is 6 and Hope is 3. I adore them. Especially Tanner. But back to Matt..he's my big brother, he's smart and occasionally funny...we're not that close.

Avery Rallita: I love Avery. So much. He's 30. He's a fun kind of guy. He's the guy that all my friends had a huge crush on, and he was always so nice to them...for no real reason. He's got a daughter, Luna (or LuLu as we call her) who's 2. Her mother, well we won't go there aside from saying that she and Avery had a brief thing that resulted in a lovely child. Lu has been fortunate to be very much like her father. Let's hope that doesn't change.

Bailey Rallita: Avery and Bailey are twins, so that makes her 30 as well. Bailey is the sweet child. This makes her sound naive, but she isn't. She's just a loving, lovable person. She's the sister you go to when you just want to be cooed over, not lectured to or given snide remarks. She also has great taste in clothes and accessories, which makes her visits here so much fun.

(If you're looking at this age-wise, this is where I'd fit in. We'll skip me, though)

Akela Rallita: I've spent years looking for the right words to describe Keela. She's 24, that's an easy one. She's a smart ass, sarcasm is a second language to her, and it would be easier to inhabit Mars than have a serious conversation with her. All the same...she's one of the kindest people I know.

Evie Rallita: Oh Evie. Evie is the baby. Anyone that has younger siblings knows how this goes. She knows how to get what she wants, and she wants everything. She's also 23 and still.."figuring herself out" so to speak. In other words, there's been a lot of bad guys, back and forth from living at our parents house, numerous job changes, and honestly...I worry. Very much. Still love her, of course.

Mama: My mom, Ana, is...wise, caring, funny, and...don't tell Papa, but she's the head of the family. She knows everything. I do mean..everything. I don't know how she does it. Really, I don't know how she did any of it. There were lots of times she was at home with all of us on her own. She's an incredible woman.

Papa: Pika, my father, is a great man. He and his family are old school Hawaii, no doubt. Which really..I'm sure means nothing to you..but anyway. He's a good man through and through. If I ever settle down I'd want to find the perfect combination of Papa and Avery. Papa can be strict, but that's him.

My parents own a restaurant, which we've all worked at. They taught us all to cook growing up. They made us a family and..they make sure we stay that way. Breaking it down like this...the whole crew doesn't sound so bad, huh? Well...take a peak in at feeding time...not pretty. Spending three years living across the country from them all has definitely...changed views in my mind.
